Introducing a Play and Learn Series where parents and their infant or toddler can come for an hour of playtime and learning. Each hour will contain three 20-minute presentations on topics by community experts in infant and toddler development. We are featuring a special soft play mat and toys by Lubbock local business, Happy Kid Play Co.

Member Meeting and Workshop Event: Texas Ethics and Play Therapy 

Join us as we hear from Dr. Rhonda Johnson, LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S, EMDR-Trained, NCC  as she presents “Texas Ethics and Play Therapy using LPC, LMFT, SW Board Rules, Code of Ethics, and APT Guidelines.”  

Learning Objectives:

  • Recall familiar board rules and Code of Ethics for each license and the Association for Play Therapy guidelines to apply to play therapy using matching and multiple choice

  • Identify the newest rules and guidelines to use in play therapy and meet the CEU requirements of a Texas Ethics course

  • Evaluate professional practices with regard to Board Rules, Code of Ethics, and guidelines for play therapy and implement necessary changes

Participants must either be licensed/certified mental health professionals or be enrolled in a mental health graduate program. Workshop participants will earn 3 CE direct contact hours in ethics. This training also fulfills the LPC “Texas-specific” ethics continuing education requirement.
